Euronet Services Joins e-Commerce Venture in Poland Leawood, Kansas – Euronet Services (Nasdaq: EEFT) has made a further move into the e-commerce industry by taking a 29% stake in a jointly-owned Polish company called eCard SA. eCard will set up, host and manage Internet web pages for on-line merchants in Poland, and process their Internet payment transactions.

In addition to its equity stake, Euronet Services will provide eCard with on-line transaction processing and authorization services for e-merchants in Poland through Euronet’s data center in Budapest, Hungary.

The other partner companies in the joint venture are ComputerLand SA, Poland’s largest systems integrator, with a 43% stake, and BRE Bank of Poland through its First Polish Investment Fund, with a 29% stake.

Janusz Diemko, Euronet Services’s managing director in Poland, said, “eCard opens up a whole new window for Euronet to get involved in Poland’s e-commerce sector. Our contribution to the venture – processing and authorizing the on-line payment transactions – is complementary to our core business of processing ATM and other electronic financial transactions. This is yet another way in which we can leverage Euronet’s existing data center infrastructure and sell more and more transactions.”
